FAQ: Charge the same printer for color and black&white printing
The information about installing & using printers with SItekiosk is given in the SiteKiosk help installed with SiteKiosk (-->Management-->Print).
But if you want to use the same printer for color and black&white printing you must setup the printer twice but in a very distinctive way.
A. If it is a local printer set it up once the default way with printer sharing enabled under Windows and make that the color version for example.
Then set it up a second time but now do it this way
01. Go to START - CONTROL PANEL - PRINTERS - ADD A PRINTER (Wizard opens)
02. Next
03. Check: Local printer attached to this computer
04. Uncheck: Automatically detect and ...
05. Next
06. Check: Create a new port
07. Choose type or port: Local Port
08. Next
09. In the field "Enter a port name", enter the name of the network printer as follows: \\Computer\release name, e.g. \\MAJESTIX\BROTHER
10. Click OK
11. Select the correct driver
12. Next
13. Enter printer name and set as default (if desired)
14. Next
15. Print test page
16. Finish
Then configure the second one to have the black&white settings.
Afterwards enable the SiteKiosk printer dialog in the print settings of SiteKiosk to allow the user to select either the color or the black&white printer.
You also need to login to the SiteKiosk Windows user (after setting it to unprotected using the SiteKiosk System Security Manager) and make the required settings there as well. For most printers these settings are user dependent.
See steps 8-10 here:

After you have set the system security manager to protected again, close it and start it right again.
Select Customized -> Policies -> Restrict Printer usage -> Untick the option ‘Disable printer settings’.
B. If it is a network printer then do as follows for the first one

03. Check: Local printer attached to this computer
04. Uncheck: Automatically detect and ...
05. Next
06. Check: Create a new port
07 Choose type or port: Local Port
08. Next
09. In the field "Enter a port name", enter the name of the network printer as follows: \\Computer\release name, e.g. \\MAJESTIX\BROTHER
10. Click OK
11. Select the correct driver
12. Next
13. Enter printer name and set as default (if desired)
14. Next
15. Print test page
16. Finish
And this way for the second one
